The Jefferson Swim League is sensitive to privacy issues on the Internet. We believe it is important for you to know how we treat the information about you we receive on the Internet. In general, you can visit the Jefferson Swim League on the World Wide Web without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. Our Web server does not collect the domain names, the email addresses, or any other information of visitors.
There are times when we may request information from you, such as your name and address. When information is needed, we will let you know how we will use the personal information, if not already obvious, at the time of collection. Usually, the information we collect is used only by us to respond to your inquiry, to permit us to satisfy your request for information, or to reply to any problem or situation you alert us to. This information is not shared with anyone outside of the Jefferson Swim League and is limited only to certain key responsible personnel.
A technology called cookies, is currently being used only for the proper functioning of the Jefferson Swim League Forum. This forum is not open to the general public and access to the forum requires the member to register and log-in. In order to complete this process the member must review and accept the use of the required cookie. You may set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie or to prevent cookies being sent to your computer. The use of cookies by the Jefferson Swim League does not involve the gathering of any information whatsoever from the general public. User's of the closed JSL Forum are advisedprior to completeting the required registration that we collect the IP address of the computer they are using. This will allow us to prevent access by that computer should there be serious abuse of the terms & conditions of forum usage. No other information is ever collected.
At times we may conduct on-line surveys to better understand the needs and profile of our visitors. We will always try to conduct surveys without gathering personnel information. If we conduct a survey that requires personnel information, we will let you know how we will use the information at the time we collect it. Again, all information obtained thought the use of a survey will be kept confidential.
To repeat our position, all visits to the JSL Web site are totally anonymous unless you choose to submit to us data that we may request and/or you choose to send information to us. In all occasions what, if any, the information obtained is completely controlled by you and limited to information you choose to provide.
